ACT with survivors of torture and trauma of war

Printer-friendly versionSend by email

I am interested to find out more about ACT research being pursued with survivors of war and torture, soldiers as well as civilians.

If there are people with clinical experience of working with ACT for this special population I would like to come in contact with you.

Best regards,

ACT for trauma resources

Hello Anna!

Yes, this is a very important area of research. A good starting point (if you haven't tried this already) would be to contact the ACBS Veteran's Administration Special Interest Group, found here: http://contextualpsychology.org/va_act_sig

The Veteran's Administration in the United States oversees many psychological services which are offered to our returning soldiers. And I know there is definitely some ACT work going on in this system.

Also, I happen to know that very soon there will be a video of a talk given by Dr. Robyn Walser on this very topic at our last world conference. This will be available to our members here: http://contextualpsychology.org/video

I hope this is helpful. Good luck with your work!
